Mia ran in a Maiden at Lingfield over 7f today. She was ridden by Freddie Tylicki, drawn in stall 10 of 13 runners. Mia jumped well, but could not get across to get cover and was left out wide, taking keen hold, sitting in 5th/6th. She settled after 2f, but was kept wide the whole way, and coming round the final bend was taken even wider by the horse on her inside, so did not have the easiest run. When asked for her effort in the straight, she did not pick up at first, but she changed leads and then quickened nicely to be the fastest finishing horse, taking 2nd in the last 1/2f. With a good draw and a clear run, she would have challenged the winner.

The jockey reported that he could not give her cover, and that combined with the poor draw cost her the chance to mount an effective challenge. He recommended dropping back to 6f as she has plenty of speed.
