Aljari ran his prep race before heading out to Dubai this afternoon.

The son of Quality Road, ran in the class 2, Bombardier British Hopped Amber Beer Handicap at Newcastle, over 7 furlongs.

He was a little slow to start, and was held up at the rear of the 10 runner field, by jockey Luke Morris. He started to make headway two furlongs from home, and he kept on smoothly to challenge the leader, but his lack of fitness just prevailed in the last half furlong when he couldn’t quite get past the eventual winner, and favourite Above The Rest.

This was a very encouraging run from him, showing none of the immaturity  he had shown in previous races, and this should put him spot on for his next race in Dubai in January.

He is an exciting prospect for owner Raed Al Youssef, and we wish him safe travels when he flies out at the end of December.
