The flashy looking El Salvaje finally got his well deserved win yesterday at Chelmsford.

He has been knocking on the door, with his last run, being beaten on the nod in a tight finish.

But yesterday was his day after an unbelievable ride from jockey Luke Morris.

Drawn 9 of 9, he was a little slowly away, was hard ridden 4 furlongs from home in the mile and a quarter handicap, was switched left with what looked like the winner gone a good few lengths clear, but then El Salvaje showed his blistering turn of foot to make up a lot of ground, finishing strongly to take the race by half a length, providing his owners, Talentschmiede Racing with their first winner.

The way he ran suggests there is plenty to come from this son of Dutch Art.
