Aljari made his second career start an impressive one when taking the Wolverhampton Holiday inn Novice Stakes on Wednesday under a great ride from Luke Morris, for owner Raed El Youssef and trainer Marco Botti.
The 3 year old son of Quality road behaved impeccably at the start, thanks to the patient handling of Eric, Marco Botti’s travelling head lad, who was at the start to lead him into the stalls.
He jumped smartly and raced just behind the leaders for the first 3/4 furlongs, turning for home, Luke angled him out and asked him for an effort, he responded well, quickening well past the leaders, and staying on strongly to win by 5 lengths.
He was still a little green in the closing stages, hanging right, but he can be forgiven, and there is a lot more to come from this exciting colt.
