Barrel Aged got us off to a great start to the New year by winning the Boost Your Acca With BetUK Handicap, which was run over a mile and six furlongs at Southwell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was given a great ride by Jack Mitchell and was drawn 10 of 11 runners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He jumped well and was kept wide round the first bend when after a furlong, he managed to get dropped in and get some cover, sitting just off the leaders. He travelled well throughout the race and made his move 2 furlongs from home challenging the leaders and getting past them but with a sustained effort from the eventual second and third, he showed a great attitude to stick his neck out and win by a short head with only a length separating the first 5 home in a thrilling finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
