The El Catorce owned and bred filly( Sky Crystal x Bated Breath) made her debut in the32red.com/ British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes at Kempton last night.
It was run over 6 furlongs, and she was drawn 6 of 7 runners.
Sean Levy deputised for James Doyle who didn’t make it from Yarmouth in time.
The filly jumped well out of the stalls, tracking the leaders sitting about 4th, one off the rail, travelling well throughout the race. Sean asked for an effort 2 furlongs out, and she started to quicken, he gave her a reminder and she showed a good turn of foot to go on down the outside, passing everything except the eventual winner, to finish second, beaten about half a length, and a neck back to the third, they had pulled 7 lengths from the rest of the field.
This was a very pleasing start to her racing career, and it looks like it won’t be too long before she is in the winners enclosure.
