Laheg who is a good looking son of Dabirsim won on only his second start yesterday at Haydock in the British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes.

The race was run over 6 furlongs, he was drawn 6 of 8 runners, the ground was good to firm and Luke Morris rode.

He jumped a little slowly and was towards the rear for the first half furlong, he got up to behind the leaders, sitting fourth and pulling quite hard for the first part of the race.

He switched off, but travelling well and was asked for an effort 2 furlongs out where he responded, going between horses and finishing well to win by a neck going away.

He was bought by Adam at the Arqana sale in the spring and looks to have the scope to be a lovely horse next year.

This was a great result for owner Mr Raed El Youssef who is a long standing client, along with trainer Marco Botti.

Laheg is an exciting prospect, winning on ground that was not ideal for him, and still showing signs of greenness, he is sure to come on again from this win.
