Al Karrar made his debut a winning one when he took the British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes at Windsor on Monday evening.

He was drawn 1 of 9 runners, the ground was good to firm and Luke Morris rode.

He reared as the gates opened but quickly made ground up to sit just behind the leaders, Luke asked him for an effort 2 and a half furlongs out and he responded well, switching left and showing an impressive turn of foot to go and win by 3 and a half lengths.

This was a good performance from this son of Dark Angel for owner Mr Raed El Youssef and brought trainer Tom Clover’s winners to 100.
