Melek Alreeh won on only his second start yesterday when he ran in the  Yorkshire Air Ambulance Novice Stakes at Doncaster.

The feature race of the evening was run over 12 furlongs, the ground was good to firm, Luke Morris rode and there was a small field of 3.

He broke smartly and jumped to the lead, with the long odds on favourite tracking him.

Luke gradually wound the pace up from 4 furlong out and the other two horses didn’t really get near him and he went on to win by just over 2 lengths.

This was a good step up from his 3rd at Redcar just a few weeks ago, and this son of Lemon Drop Kid who was bought at the Tatts Ireland Gorsebridge sale at Newmarket last year, has repaid the patience his owner Mr Raed El Youssef and trainer David Simcock have displayed.
