The El Catorce homebred filly, Flora Tristan ran a great race at Kempton last night to finish second in the 6 furlong Bet At racinguk.com Handicap.

Ridden by Gabriel Malune, she jumped well from a wide draw, and he managed to get her across to sit just behind the leader, travelling well, Gabriel asked her to go on two furlongs from home, she responded well, just getting her head in front at the furlong marker, only to be headed by the well backed winner, who was chasing another win, to finish second, beaten about a length.

This was a pleasing performance from Flora, showing a good attitude, but once again, just being unlucky to bump into an improving horse.

Hopefully her day will come soon!
