Al Reeh started the 2019 campaign for GEG owners at Kempton today in the 2.45pm Handicap at Kempton. Given a wide draw in stall 7, Al Reeh broke well, but was kept wide into the bend by the horses inside him, before finally getting ahead to slot in behind the race leader Six Strings. Settling into a strong paced gallop round the bend, Al Reeh progressively made up ground and then smoothly went on to take the lead at the break-away, but just got tired in the final 50yds, having had to work hard early on in the race. A fine start to 2019, and sure to go one better next time out.
